Pilates in Pregnancy
Our pre- and postnatal Pilates classes with Lauren McMillan provide a safe way of exercising throughout your pregnancy, giving you an effective and adaptive programme to support both body and mind. Additional benefits include, improved posture, relaxation, muscular strength, stamina and tone – which all help prepare the body for labour. We can also help you avoid common problems that occur in pregnancy such as backache, postural imbalances, low-energy levels and poor circulation.
Our postnatal exercises are designed to help you re-connect with your body and recover from giving birth. You will be guided to rediscover the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles as well as learn relaxation techniques.
The beauty of the Pilates technique is that many of the original exercises can be easily adapted to benefit each stage of your pregnancy when energy levels may fluctuate. Our specialist teacher is trained to assess your individual needs and make adjustments where necessary.
Prior to enrolment on the Pilates in Pregnancy courses we will require you to complete a comprehensive health evaluation form. Whilst the exercise programme is very safe and gentle, it is always advisable to seek clearance from your medical professional in the first instance.
